Description

The project will design and implement a hybrid health insurance billing model that serves the revenue generating needs of the university and addresses access and equity concerns. The project team will address staff resource needs and roll out the process to students, Student Health Center staff, and adjacent colleagues. The project will coordinate with vendors to execute contracts with the designated health insurance plans, credential health providers, and implement billing processes and procedures necessary to support the hybrid health insurance billing model. The implementation effort will address risk, policy changes, FERPA and HIPAA compliance requirements, and work with colleagues for timely engagement.

Status Summary

Provider credentialing and the process of contracting with insurance companies continues.  Policy development, approval, and creating staff training continues to move forward.  Workflows for a variety of billing processes have been drafted and discussed.
